Astros Continue To Make Baseball Look Impossible

Look, I'm just going to come out and say it: the Houston Astros aren't a very good baseball team. That's a bit of an unpopular opinion, I realize, but you come to SB Nation for hard-hitting, uncomfortable sports facts. And also for GIFs. As you might imagine, we have a GIF waiting for you after the jump. It involves the Astros and it's likely much better than whatever you're imagining right now. Yes, better than that.

In an Astros season that has already given us a legitimate GIF tournament contender and a current candidate for GIF of the Week, this might be the best Astros GIF of the year. Certainly it is the most Astros image we have seen, possibly ever.

What is happening here is that Marwin Gonzalez (the only thing the Astros have had all year that includes a "win") is trying to leg out a grounder. He ... he doesn't accomplish that.

That's not how bases work, Astros! What a cruel joke to coat the bags in Flubber at your own home stadium. Unless the Astros go all Los Angeles Dodgers on their payroll on the offseason, consider this GIF a visual depiction of how the 'Stros are going to perform in the American League next year.

Gonzalez sprained his left ankle on the play and is day-to-day. Because Astros.
