The Jacksonville Jaguars have announced today that they have agreed to terms on a contract with their fifth overall draft pick, former Oklahoma State wide receiver Justin Blackmon. The deal has yet to be signed, but the Jags official twitter announced it should be signed either later today or tomorrow.

Blackmon's impending signing will wrap up the deals for the 2012 NFL draft class. Everyone else has been signed, with very few resulting to hold outs. Clearly, the new rookie wage structure put in place by the collective bargaining agreement last year has had a positive impact on this subject. Previously, we have seen multiple rookies hold out well into training camp to get a lot more money than they probably deserved given they were rookies. From my point of view, this is one win for both sides of the new CBA.
As for Blackmon, he'll now be playing catch up with the Jaguars if he's to play a significant role early this season. He's already raised questions with Jaguars fans when he was arrested for DUI back in June. Then he held out of the start of training camp. Now he has work to do to prove he was worth the Jaguars trading up for him.
