The Marlins slugger has been out for a month; the team will be very happy to have him back.

Miami Marlins slugger Giancarlo Stanton has been out of the lineup since July 7 with knee problems that required arthroscopic surgery. At the time, it was thought he'd be out from four to six weeks.

We're right in the middle of that time frame, and now, Stanton will be returning to the Marlins:

Stanton went 5-for-16 in a four-game rehab assignment at Jupiter in the Florida State League; two of the hits were home runs. Stanton was having a fine season before he hit the DL, hitting .284/.364/.554 with 19 home runs in 80 games. He was the Marlins' sole representative on the NL All-Star team, but could not play due to the injury.

The Marlins have gone 8-18 since Stanton went on the DL; that poor play is not solely due to Stanton's absence, but they will certainly welcome him back to the lineup, to take more shots at the home-run structure in Marlins Park.
