A video preview of the battle between Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and Sergio Martinez.
Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. could have spent his entire life coasting on the name that his father, one of the most popular boxers in the sport's history, created. Instead, he chose to climb into the ring and make his own name in the same arena where his father became a legend.
For much of the early part of his career, people questioned the level of competition that Chavez Jr. faced. But his performances have gotten better with the competition, most recently brutalizing Andy Lee in what looked to be a tough fight on paper.
Sergio Martinez got into the sport a little bit later in life than some. But he has developed into one of the top five pound-for-pound fighters in the world. The recognition that he has, as one of the true best boxers on Earth, is something that Chavez r. wants.
A new HBO preview of the fight quickly captures the motivations, personalities and stories of both men in an effort to hype up this Saturday night's HBO pay-per-view clash between the two men.
