Despite a great deal of consternation and kerfuffle over the exit of Robin Van Persie and Arsenal's failure to net any goals in their first two matches, things really aren't so bad for Arsene Wegner and company at the moment. The Gunners dispatched of Liverpool at Anfield 2-0 before the international break and still have not allowed a goal this season.
Wenger will have some work to do though this weekend against Southampton with several players either out, or potentially out with a variety of maladies.Theo Walcott will not be available after picking up a virus, but his spot will likely be taken by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. Midfielder Abou Diaby managed to injure himself during international duty with France (Diaby hurt?! Never!) and is doubtful for the match. Wojciech Szczesny appears recovered and ready to retake his goalkeeper spot from Vito Mannone.
Southampton meanwhile look to be well on their way to being the team that plays really hard but simply cannot get a result. After having their hearts and three points ripped away at home by the aforementioned RVP and Manchester United before the break, Nigel Adkins has to figure out a way to get his side moving in the right direction.
His roster will be buoyed this week by the long awaited arrival of the club's record signing Gaston Ramirez who finally cleared up all his transfer paperwork. Just how much Ramirez will factor in to the match though remains to be seen.
