Michigan Runs Trick Interception To Perfection

Stay connected with SB Nation

One of the underrated trick plays is the running back interception. Not a lot of teams run it anymore, but it's a classic making a comeback. Michigan running back Vincent Smith tried this against Notre Dame, and executes it EXACTLY as designed:

Flawless. Smith found Nicky Baratti in the end zone for the touch... back.

Michigan later completed two interceptions of the standard Denard Robinson "quarterback forward pass" variety, and Notre Dame also just threw an interception. All plays are now interceptions. You have an interception in this game. Nice interception, you!
