I'm having difficulty writing this post because it means the end of something that I started almost seven years ago, NASCAR RnR will be shutting its doors tonight as we merge with SBN's main NASCAR page.
I'm excited to be offered the opportunity to write on the main NASCAR page for SBN with Jeff Gluck, but I'm having a tough time letting NASCAR RnR go too because to take this opportunity means I have to let go of something that I've built for more than half a decade.
I will miss NASCAR RnR, it has given me opportunities that I never thought would have been possible; meet and interview some of NASCAR's top drivers, gain acces to NASCAR garages and pit areas, write for a fairly large newspaper for two racing seasons, and most importantly meeting other racing fans such as you and the people who ended up writing for NASCAR RnR over the years.
It has been cool to watch my writers grow and become good NASCAR scribes. NASCAR RnR has produce good talent over the years. Courtney Dryden went on to become a PR person for a NASCAR racing team, Kaitlyn Vincie went on to become a on air personality for SPEED TV, and Matt Weaver is on his way to becoming the next David Poole of NASCAR - just to name a few.
To all of my writers, past and present (Troy, Aaron, Brandon, and Matt), thank you for making NASCAR RnR such a great place to be.
To all of the people who helped get NASCAR RnR off the ground and offered me advice and encouragement when it would have bee easy to ignore me and turn the other cheek I thank you. You truly don't know how much you've meant to me.
And to all of NASCAR RnR's readers I thank you the most because it was your interaction with us that made it all worth it. Thank you, thank you, thank you and I hope to see you over at SBN's main NASCAR page soon.
