Recapping all of the results from Tuesday's English League Cup play.
Wolverhampton Wanderers probably weren't too mad when they drew Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the League Cup. Sure, they'd have little to no chance to win, but it's a nice payday. Still, they probably hoped for a better experience than they got. A strong Chelsea B/B+ team absolutely stomped Wolves 6-0 in the most striking result of Tuesday's League Cup action.
In other action, all but one of the Premier League teams facing lower opposition on Tuesday emerged victorious. Swansea City, Sunderland and Southampton all went through. In one of the matches between two Premier League teams, Wigan laid a 4-1 beating on West Ham at Upton Park.
Everton went to Elland Road and played a mixed A/B team. The result wasn't pretty. David Moyes learned a lot about his team's lack of depth in Leeds' convincing 2-1 victory.
Oh, and then there was Aston Villa - Manchester City. The Villains went to Eastlands and pulled off a surprising 4-2 victory after extra time. There's a link to a full report from that game at the bottom of this post.
