Following Friday's news that John Wall will miss significant time due to a knee injury, Jake Whitacre of Bullets Forever explored what's next for the Washington Wizards.
Whitacre expects Jordan Crawford to take over Wall's duties at point guard, with support coming from A.J. Price and Shelvin Mack. It is also possible the Wizards sign a point guard and then release him when Wall returns. Steven Gray is the most likely candidate. Trading for a point guard seems unlikely, since Wall could end up only missing ten games.
With Crawford moving into the starting point guard role, Bradley Beal could start at shooting guard. Whitacre seems a bit reluctant to say that this is good news, since the move could affect Beal's development. Don't forget about Nene, who is also not 100 percent healthy.
Many Wizards fans think that this team has a chance of making it to the poststeason. How will this injury affect playoff expectations?
