Tajh Boyd and the Clemson Tigers used a big second half to beat the Boston College Eagles.
Rolling up 576 yards of total offense and scoring six offensive touchdowns, the Clemson Tigers pulled away from the Boston College Eagles in the second half to win by a score of 45-31 in Walnut Hill, Mass..
Clemson's Tajh Boyd led the Tigers' offensive attack, accounting for 409 offensive yards and four touchdowns. The quarterback threw for 367 yards on a 28-for-38 performance with three touchdowns and a pick while rushing for 42 yards and a score.
Boston College also performed well through the air, as Eagles quarterback Chase Rettig completed 25 of 43 passes for three touchdowns and a pair of interceptions. Those interceptions, however, as well as Boston College's difficulties on the ground, would be keys to the Clemson victory. BC averaged only 1.8 yards per carry on the night, with a team rushing total of just 51 yards.
Box Score Hero: Clemson wideout DeAndre Hopkins was a crucial cog in the Clemson offensive machine, catching 11 balls for 197 yards and a touchdown.
Rankings Ramifications: Clemson came into this week ranked at 17, so they will certainly maintain that ranking, if not move into the low teens.
But Did They Cover? Clemson was favored to win by 7, so they beat that spread. The over/under on the game was set at 60, so those betting the over earned their money.
Next Week's Schedule: Next week, Clemson will host Georgia Tech at 3:30 p.m. ET and Boston College will play Army at West Point beginning at noon ET.
