The Falcons look to stay undefeated as they host the division-rival Panthers on Sunday.
The Carolina Panthers head to Atlanta to face the Falcons on Sunday afternoon. Atlanta is looking to create separation from the rest of the NFC South, as they are two games ahead of the Panthers and Buccaneers coming into the weekend.
The Falcons are 3-0 after a 40-24 win on the road over the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 3. Quarterback Matt Ryan has been on fire to start the season, as he has completed 72 percent of his passes for 793 yards, eight touchdowns, and a 114.0 QB rating. Ryan has led a Falcon team that is third in the NFL in scoring at 31.3 points per game.
The Panthers are trying to bounce back from a disappointing loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers that dropped them to 1-2 on the year. The offense was held in check as Carolina could muster just 10 points. Second-year quarterback Cam Newton has struggled to get going, throwing five interceptions to just two touchdowns. He has four rushing and passing touchdowns combined, a far cry from the 38 total scores he tallied as a rookie.
Atlanta swept both games between the two teams in 2011, winning by an average margin of 11 points.
