Aldrick Robinson, Brandon Meriweather inactive after pregame collision

Washington was preparing to play the Buccaneers, but two Redskins players weren't paying very much attention.

This may go down as one of the most awkward injury situations to ever occur in an NFL pregame. The Redskins were on the field stretching and running through drills in preparation for their matchup against the Buccaneers, and then this happened:

Not only was this an unscripted, actual thing that happened, but both Brandon Meriweather and Aldrick Robinson were subsequently ruled out for the game.

Meriweather has made a name for himself as a lights-out defender, often flagged and fined for his vicious hits against opposing wide receivers.

Unfortunately, this time, there was no one from the other team around, as Robinson appeared to be "in the zone" (counting blades of grass?), completely unaware that Meriweather was tracking a pass thrown to the end zone.

Other inactives for the game include QB Rex Grossman, RB Ryan Grant, CB Cedric Griffin, LB Markus White, and OG Adam Gettis.

We'll see what the Redskins have to say about this in their post-game press conference.
