Real referees make mistakes too, like this fumble by Darren Sproles in Green Bay that they missed.
Replacement referees are not the only ones who make mistakes. The real thing messed up a call in Green Bay, yes, a bad call that went against the Packers for the second week in a row. What are the odds?
Darren Sproles caught the Packers' kickoff and during the return fumbled the ball. As you can see, the ball popped out of his hands well before he was down on the play. The refs ruled him down, negating the Packers turnover.
Green Bay could not challenge the play because they were out of challenges when the incident occurred late in the fourth quarter. The Saints are still driving on the resulting play.
The Packers have a slim 28-27 lead as the clock winds down to the two-minute warning. New Orleans has looked more like the Saints fans remember from last season, giving the Packers a real fight in a game that few expected to be so close.
