The Angels righthander took a line drive to his shoulder Sunday. Now he's likely to miss at least one start.

Angels righthander Jered Weaver took a line drive off his shoulder, hit by the Mariners' Dustin Ackley, Sunday in Seattle.

At first it didn't appear serious, but now Weaver's likely going to have his next start pushed back. Mike DiGiovanna:

Jered Weaver was in no mood to discuss his bruised right shoulder on Tuesday, and Manager Mike Scioscia said "nothing has changed" since Monday, when the Angels were in a wait-and-see mode concerning Weaver’s next start.

But it is appearing more and more likely that Weaver, who took a hard Dustin Ackley line drive to the shoulder in the fifth inning of Sunday’s game in Seattle, will not pitch against the Detroit Tigers this weekend and will be pushed back to next week.

It's more than wait-and-see Wednesday, according to DiGiovanna:

The Angels, according to the DiGiovanna article, had hoped to hold Weaver back so they could get him lined up for the postseason. The Angels trail in the wild-card race by 3½ games; perhaps they should worry about getting there first.
