The UCLA Bruins defense managed a huge safety to help lift Johnathan Franklin, Brett Hundley, and the offense to a huge victory.

Everyone loves an underdog. Unranked UCLA stunned No. 16 ranked Nebraska in a back-and-forth game at the Rose Bowl, 36-30. While the offense for the Bruins had a hand in the team's win, it would be the defense that would push the team over the edge. An early fourth quarter interception by Andrew Abbott took away any momentum that Nebraska had.
This is a giant win for the lesser known team in Los Angeles. There is hope back on the campus of UCLA in the form of first year Bruins' head coach Jim Mora, who is now 2-0 at the helm. The Bruins haven't had a stable starter at quarterback in years., butFreshman Brett Hundley looked the part as he threw for 305 yards and had four touchdowns. After pummeling Rice in the first week and upsetting Nebraska in the second, UCLA just might earn a second look when the polls are tallied on Monday.
Box Score Hero: UCLA running back Johnathan Franklin rushed for 217 yards on 26 carries
Rankings Ramifications: Pretty significant win for the unranked Bruins. Nebraska can kiss that No. 16 ranking goodbye.
But Did They Cover? Going into the game, the line was UCLA +4.5. So, yes, they did.

I'm not sure anyone was fooled by UCLA's weird "We're kicking a field goal, wait lol no we're not" formation. We know the struggles of the UCLA kickers by now. We get it. And I think everyone else does, too.
So instead of kicking a field goal, UCLA lined up in the typical place-kicking formation, then motion into some kind of alien getup. And then chucked it deep. Predictably, this idea did not work at all.
Good job, good effort.

Edit: He's back!
UCLA Bruins starting quarterback Brett Hundley suffered an injury to what appeared to be his ankle during the third quarter in today's game against the Nebraska Cornhuskers. The freshman quarterback was attempting to run for a first down with 14:20 left in the third quarter. In his place, the Bruins summoned senior quarterback Richard Brehaut while team trainers examined Hundley.
Fortunately for the Bruins, the injury doesn't appear to be serious as Hundley is on the sidelines getting a feel for his ankle and has his helmet. It appears he will be fine and able to get back into the game.
The potential loss of Hundley could have been a crushing blow for the Bruins this season. The freshman was having a stellar outing in what is his second career start, passing for three touchdowns in the first half alone. The Bruins will now look to finish off the Nebraska Cornhuskers, but first take a huge breath of relief.
