After re-aggravating his leg while trying to sprint out the final out of the New York Yankees' 5-4 loss to the Baltimore Orioles on Saturday night, Mark Teixeira is feeling sore, but his recovery from the initial injury has not been completely undone, according to Yankees manager Joe Girardi.
Girardi told the Associated Press on Sunday that Teixeira was scheduled for an MRI and was likely to miss time, including Sunday's final game in a four-game series between the Yankees and Orioles.
"I don't think he'll be a player for us," Girardi told the AP. "I'd be surprised, but we'll just have to wait and see. He's sore — he doesn't feel like it's back to square one, but it's sore."
Teixeira returned Saturday after a 10-day absence because of the injury to his calf. Teixeira went 1-for-4 on Saturday night in his return.
