Clemson WR DeAndre Hopkins declares for NFL Draft

Mike Ehrmann

Clemson Tigers wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins decided to forego his senior season to enter the NFL Draft.

Clemson wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins is headed off to the NFL Draft and will skip his senior season. Hopkins declared his intentions to move onto the next level on his Twitter account.

Hopkins had an impressive junior campaign, notching 82 receptions for 1,408 yards and hauling in 18 touchdowns. Hopkins joins a relatively deep NFL Draft class of receivers that includes Keenan Allen, Robert Woods, Tavon Austin, Cordarrelle Patterson and others. However, Hopkins is getting a lot of attention as of late, and his stock appears to be rising at just the right time.

In SB Nation's latest mock draft, Hopkins is projected as one of the best wide receivers on the board, going as the 25th pick of the first round to the Seattle Seahawks. Things that really distinguish Hopkins are his impressive technique, which allows him to use his hands and precise route running to make solid catches while maintaining excellent body control.
