The NBA's New Year's Day schedule features six games.
The NBA rings in the new year with six games on Tuesday's schedule. While the day's matchups aren't the greatest, a contest between the Los Angeles Clippers and Denver Nuggets should be entertaining. All times listed are Eastern.
Dallas Mavericks at Washington Wizards, 6 p.m., League Pass
At 12-19, the Mavs may be having a down year, but the 4-24 Wizards are downright abysmal.
Sacramento Kings at Detroit Pistons, 7:30 p.m., League Pass
Detroit and Sacramento both have losing records but are both on two-game winning streaks. One of those streaks will come to an end.
Portland Trail Blazers at New York Knicks, 7:30 p.m., League Pass
The Knicks have been one of the NBA's biggest surprises, jumping out to a 22-9 record and first place in the Atlantic Division.
Atlanta Hawks at New Orleans Hornets, 8 p.m., League Pass
The Hornets are 7-21 and sitting in the Western Conference cellar. That name change can't come soon enough.
Los Angeles Clippers at Denver Nuggets, 9 p.m., NBA TV
The Nuggets are looking like a playoff team, and the Clippers appear to be one of the best teams in the NBA. Los Angeles and Denver rank sixth and eighth, respectively, in scoring, so this one should be fun.
Philadelphia 76ers at Los Angeles Lakers, 10:30 p.m., League Pass
Don't look now, but the Lakers are 6-4 in their last 10 games. Are they finally turning it around?
