Ravens vs. Broncos: Bernard Pollard shrugs off last meeting

USA TODAY Sports

Baltimore Ravens safety Bernard Pollard says the Ravens aren't looking for revenge on the Colts for beating them in Week 15.

When the Baltimore Ravens travel to Denver to take on the No. 1 seed Broncos on Saturday afternoon, it won't be the first time that the two teams have met this season. In Week 15, the Broncos traveled to Baltimore and came away victorious, beating the Ravens by a score of 34-17. The Broncos are favored to defeat the Ravens and head to the AFC Championship game, but Baltimore isn't planning on rolling over.

Ravens safety Bernard Pollard was a guest on 102.3 The Ticket in Denver and was asked if there was a degree of revenge in the minds of Ravens players. Pollian said that isn't the case at all.

"No, not at all. Our main key is to go out there and to win. We couldn't care less what happened in Week 15."

The Ravens have been defeated by a Peyton Manning-led team in nine-straight games, and Pollard knows the challenges that any defense has when facing the future Hall of Fame quarterback. He knows that the Ravens won't be able to completely stop him, so he believes the best game plan should be to contain him.

"We have to do everything we can to pressure him. You're not gonna stop a guy like that. This guy is a Hall of Famer. He's a very special talent; he's shown that for 15 years. All we can do is try to contain him. He gets paid a lot of money to throw that ball; that offensive line is blocking their tails off for him. So we have to do our best to try to contain this guy. Like I said, we have to allow our front seven to eat. If they're eating, then things are going great. If they're not, this guy can pick you apart."

The game is the first of the weekend and set to kick off at 4:30 p.m. ET. It will be broadcast nationally on CBS.
