NHL TV schedule 2013: CBC, TSN combine for 91 games; Hockey Day in Canada set for Feb. 9

Bruce Fedyck-US PRESSWIRE

The Canadian networks will load up on whatever NHL action they can in this shortened season, as CBC and TSN combine for over 90 games.

You may have heard this before: hockey is popular in Canada. Therefore, TSN and CBC will bring Canadians all the hockey they can get between now and April.

CBC will broadcast 49 games as part of Hockey Night in Canada starting on opening day, Jan. 19, with a triple-header. They will bring their signature Hockey Day in Canada to the airwaves on Feb. 9.

TSN will air 42 games on their main network this season featuring at least one Canadian team, starting with a double-header on Jan. 22. That is an important distinction, because the network and it's sister station, TSN2, will be adding a ton of games featuring American teams very soon. The NHL Network in Canada (which is technically separate from the one we receive) will also likely get a package of games, to be announced soon.
