Gay outlasted Charles Howell III and David Lingmerth in a three man playoff after finishing the tournament all tied for first.
Brian Gay won the 2013 Humana Challenge, beating Charles Howell III and David Lingmerth in a three person playoff after ending the tournament tied at 25-under par. Lingmerth finished in third after he couldn't keep pace with Gay and Howell on the first playoff hole, and Gay birdied the second playoff hole to take home the win.
James Hahn and Scott Stallings tied for fourth at 24-under par. Stallings was alone in the lead at 26-under, but bogeyed two of the final three holes to drop back into the pack. Nicholas Thompson and Ryan Palmer finished tied for sixth at 23-under, Kevin Chappell and Jason Kokrak finished tied for eighth at 22-under, and Richard Lee, Billy Horschel, Kevin Streelman, Brian Stuard, Charley Hoffman, and Stewart Cink finished tied for 10th at 21-under par.
Lingmerth, Hahn, and Chappell all finished with the low round on Sunday, shooting a 10-under 62. The PGA West (Palmer Course) at La Quinta surrendered low numbers all weekend, but that's a ridiculous number no matter the course.
