The Rock and CM Punk lose to Royal Rumble's Spanish announce table

WWE

Finally, the Spanish announce table fights back.

The Spanish announce table is the most put-upon piece of furniture in all of sports, even more so than Bobby Knight's chair or the announce table through which Joe Buck slams his wrestling opponents. Nary a wrestling show goes by without someone using the international table as an instrument of elaborate pain against an opponent.

But not tonight.

As the Rock aimed to line up CM Punk for a devastating maneuver atop the secondary table, the booth bit back. Both competitors were forced to come up with a way to veer back on-course despite the unfortunate collapse. It seemed like the Rock came out ahead, because that's what was supposed to happen anyway.

The other table tasted the same fate later on, as the lights went out and Punk's crew was accused of cheating or something despite nobody seeing what happened. Vince McMahon and Michael Cole made a rush to judgment, as far as I'm concerned.

Also, I'm told this: "You might want to mention that one Summerslam where the Spanish announce table also collapsed on Triple H and Kurt Angle."
