Jared Dudley learns maybe the best defense is to not use wrasslin' moves in a basketball game
It's no secret Rajon Rondo can get under the skin of his opponents. Meanwhile, Jared Dudley has made his name and living on defense and effort, so it should be no surprise that he doesn't back down from any matchup. But this might go a little far in the name of nagging defense.
Rondo seems to be a little annoyed by some of Dudley's barking here. If Jared really wants to get in Rondo's ear, I recommend a wet willy. Worked wonders on my brother when I was a kid, and also now that I'm an adult, too!
The forearm shiver defense isn't a popular one in the NBA, for whatever reason. Maybe it's because it results in a flagrant foul, like it did here. UPDATE: The foul was rescinded. Thankfully, Dudley raised his hand so we can be sure of who the foul should be called on!
This game is Rondo's first since his suspension for bumping bosoms with a referee during their win over the Atlanta Hawks this past Saturday. Rondo wasn't ejected at the time but the contact earned him a one-game rest for the following game against the Knicks, which Boston still won.
In tonight's return, Rondo has 8 points on 11 shots and 8 assists with 4 turnovers with about a minute left in the game
