NASCAR at Kansas 2013 race day weather forecast

Cold temperatures, wind, and the possibility of a shower or two are in the forecast for NASCAR at Kansas Speedway

Forecast for Kansas Speedway today is a little different that was originally thought. The storm system that brought the storms Friday night and the cold temperatures on Saturday will remain just to the east over southern Iowa and northern Missouri. This will keep cloud cover around all afternoon, gusty winds out of the west-northwest, very chilly temperatures and the slight chance of an isolated shower or two.

When you have a storm system this close along with very cold air above you, instability increases which leads to a small chance of an isolated shower. I don't think these showers will be much of a threat and I give the odds of racing to completion to be around 85%.

The cold temperatures could test engine durability like we saw at Chicagoland Speedway to kick off the 2013 Chase for the Sprint Cup.
