Cleveland Browns running back Chris Ogbonnaya (concussion) will practice on Wednesday, according to a report by the Cleveland Plain Dealer's Mary Kay Cabot. Through five games this season, Ogbonnaya has 20 total touches for 114 yards and a touchdown.
Fantasy impact: Ogbonnaya has proven to be a good pass catcher and change-of-pace running back for the Browns this season. That said, most of his fantasy value only appeals to fantasy owners in point per reception leagues, as teammate Willis McGahee gets the majority of carries on the ground.
Ogbonnaya's touchdown against the Cincinnati Bengals earlier this season was just his second career score and his career-high yardage total of 334 set back in 2011 is not exactly the stuff fantasy studs are made of.
That said, Ogbonnaya has never truly been given a chance to be a starter or go-to guy and he does alright in limited action when given the opportunity. It just seems there is always someone in front of him on the depth chart and he's generally regarded as a borderline NFL player at best.
In Week 6, the Browns face a Detroit Lions defense that has given up the seventh-most points to fantasy running backs this season. Ogbonnaya is only an emergency-worthy fantasy talent and is nothing but waiver-wire material outside of leagues that account for receptions.
