Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan threw for 348 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in the Week 16 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. Ryan's up-and-down year continued as he was also sacked once for a 7-yard loss. The two interceptions near the end of the game sealed the loss, and linebacker NaVorro Bowman picked off the first one with over a minute remaining and ran it back 89 yards for a touchdown. On the year, Ryan has thrown for 4,235 yards, 24 touchdowns and 16 interceptions.
Fantasy impact: This game encapsulates Ryan's season. He has done some really nice things but the turnovers are mounting. His 16 interceptions are now a career worst. Ryan's value as a fantasy quarterback has declined with the loss of Julio Jones. The Falcons will face another great defense in Week 17 when they square up against the Carolina Panthers. The Panthers are giving up the second-fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks.
