We break down the Week 14 matchup between the New York Giants and the San Diego Chargers.

The Week 14 matchup between he New York Giants and the San Diego Chargers features two teams going in opposite directions. We've got all the fantasy projections for you courtesy of numberFire.

New York Giants

Few would have envisioned that the Giants would be in the thick of a playoff race considering how the season started. A big part of those early season struggles was the lack of a running game. David Wilson struggled early in the season and then suffered a season-ending neck injury. Da'Rell Scott, Brandon Jacobs and Peyton Hillis filled in but weren't the answer long term. Andre Brown however is the answer. He'll no doubt be used a lot against the Chargers. Brown only rushed for 35 yards against the Washington Redskins last week, but he did score twice.

If he's not scoring, the Giants are probably hoping Victor Cruz will play at a high level against San Diego. It's been a really up and down season for him and although he is an elite talent, Cruz can't be trusted to produce monster games every other week the way he was last season.

San Diego Chargers

When quarterback Philip Rivers is on his game, he can be an elite fantasy passer. The trouble is he goes through his share of bumps in the road. One week he'll throw for 400 yards and three scores and the next week he'll turn the ball over three times and be out of the game by half time. His fantasy owners can only hope he's able to get it together against the Giants. If he does, fantasy owners of Rivers could start the playoffs with a bang.

When things are going well for Rivers this week, rookie receiver Keenan Allen will no doubt have something to do with it. Injuries and inconsistency from the likes of Malcolm Floyd and Eddie Royal opened the door for Allen to emerge this year. He hasn't looked back and is now clearly the team's number one pass catcher, particularly down the field.
