All the pre-game information before the Championship round of the 61st Annual Beanpot Tournament - game times, pertinent notes, TV/radio information, and more.

BOSTON -- A new champion will be crowned in the annual Beanpot Tournament on Monday night at TD Garden as Northeastern and Boston College will meet to decide the title for the fourth time in its 61-year history, but for the second time in three years.

Additionally, Boston University and Harvard will meet for the second time this season and for the second time in three years for third place. The Terriers will have a lot to play for as far as the national PairWise picture is concerned as another loss to the Crimson could be devastating to jumping back into the NCAA bubble come March.

The Teams and Records:

No. 13 Boston University (13-11-1, 10-7-1 Hockey East) vs. Harvard (5-15-2, 3-12-1 ECAC Hockey League)
No. 5 Boston College (16-7-2, 12-6-1 HE) vs. Northeastern (8-13-3, 4-11-3 HE)

TV and Times: The consolation game between the Crimson and Terriers begins at 4:30 p.m. and will not be televised.

New England Sports Network will host a 30-minute Prelude to a Championship pre-game show before the 7:30 title game face-off. Don Orsillo (play-by-play), Andy Brickley (color), and Naoko Funayama (rinkside) will have the call.

Preview Notes:

>> In the 2011 title game, BC and NU's last head-to-head meeting for the championship, Jimmy Hayes lifted the Eagles to a 7-6 overtime win over the Huskies. BC has not lost a Beanpot game since a 6-1 drubbing by Northeastern in the 2009 semifinals.

>> Each of the four captains - BC's Pat Mullane, BU's Wade Megan, Harvard's Danny Biega, and Northeastern's Vinny Saponari - scored a point in last week's semifinals. However, Biega was the only one to score a goal for his team.

>> The Eagles seek their 18th Beanpot title and fourth in as many years on Monday night. Despite their recent success, Beanpot champions are only 23-for-59 when attempting to repeat as champions.

>> NU will look to become just the sixth team all-time to win a title after playing in the previous year's consolation game. Of course, the Huskies are in the midst of a 25-year Beanpot title drought, which dates back to 1988.

>> Husky rookie Kevin Roy scored a goal in each period of last week's 3-2 win over BU, scoring his first-career hat trick and becoming the first freshman to pot three in a Beanpot game since BC's Krys Kolanos on Feb. 7, 2000. The Montreal native and Anaheim Ducks draftee rides a four-game point streak, which includes five goals and seven assists, into the contest.

>> For the Eagles, sophomore Quinn Smith posted two goals - doubling his season-to-date output - in the 4-1 semifinal win over Harvard. BC beat Vermont by the same score on Feb. 1 with the Fairfield, Conn. native's goal deciding the outcome.

>> Senior Steven Whitney, a Reading, Mass. native, leads BC with 17 goals, including one in the third period last week that extended his Beanpot career total to a team-best five.

>> BU and Harvard will also lock in the third-place game for the second time in three years. The Crimson rallied for four of the final five goals en route to a 6-5 overtime win on Jan. 9 of this season at Agganis Arena as senior Conor Morrison scored the winner in the final minute.

>> Harvard's leading scorer Jimmy Vesey, a North Reading native, was held off the scoresheet in consecutive games, including last week's loss to BC. On the flip side, BC sophomore Johnny Gaudreau was without a point as well.

>> Half of BU's four points last week came from local freshmen Danny O'Regan of Needham and Matt Grzelyck of Charlestown. As the Terriers miss the finals for the second time in three years, this year's senior class will graduate without a Beanpot title for the first time since 1965.
