The Verizon Center Jumbotron and its various features are, for whatever reason, not working tonight. There is still a Wizards-Raptors game to be played, though, so the industrious D.C. came up with some solutions. Just like the old days, the game is being played with the scoreboard and shot clock on the floor. Oh, and an air horn:
The horn is not working either, so subs are being summoned by an air horn.

It's pretty striking to hear the shrill sound of an air horn when you're expecting the familiar buzzer. Thankfully, the hoops have not been exchanged for peach baskets. No word yet on whether players will change into short shorts at halftime.
