Jaromir Jagr sends Oilers home in OT with historic goal

The NHL legend moved up the all-time leaderboards and silenced the Edmonton crowd with his 668th goal.

It's hard to believe this guy is 40 years old. He's certainly not showing it.

Dallas Stars winger Jaromir Jagr ended the Edmonton Oilers's bid at a comeback win with his NHL-record 17th overtime goal just 1:46 into overtime to give the Stars a 3-2 win. The NHL legend picked up the puck in the corner, waited for Ryan Whitney to make a move for the puck and then turned him into a corkscrew as he deked past and netted the game-winner with a snap shot. Icing on the cake was his "shhh" gesture to the suddenly dead silent Edmonton crowd.

The fact that the Jamie Benn-Jaromir Jagr pairing is just now starting to click and their team is finally getting healthy has to be a good feeling for Stars fans. Benn and Derek Roy both potted goals tonight, and Jagr's winner secured a promising win for this squad.

With his 668th career goal, Jagr is now tied with Luc Robitaille for 10th all-time and could conceivably end up even higher up the list by the end of the season.

Meanwhile, no need to "shh" us, Jaromir. We know.
