If the Horizon League tournament semi-finals are any indication, Tuesday's matchup between the No.1 Valparaiso Crusaders and the No. 3 Wright St. Raiders will come right down to the wire, and has a good chance to end on a buzzer beater.
The two teams will play Tuesday night, March 12 at 9 p.m. ET. Valparaiso will host the game at the Athletics-Recreation Center in Valparaiso, IN, and ESPN will televise the game.
Valparaiso received a bye to the semi-finals as one of the top two seeds in the tournament. They won their semi-final game against the Green Bay Phoenix, 70-69. Ryan Broekhoff propelled the Crusaders into the finals by sinking a fade-away three-point basket as time expired.
Wright State won their semi-final matchup in similarly thrilling fashion defeating last season's Horizon League tournament champion and the No. 2 seed Detroit Titans, 56-54. Miles Dixon hit a contested baseline jumper as time expired to clinch the game for the Raiders.
The winner of the Horizon league tournament will receive an automatic invitation to the NCAA tournament, while the losing team is not expected to receive an at-large bid.
