False NFL free agency rumors that are inaccurate: Vikings, Bears want Phil Loadholt for no good reason

You just never know when the next NFL free agency period (4 p.m. Eastern Tuesday) is going to start. Here are some lies.

You never know what the heck is going to happen in the wild and crazy world NFL free agency. For motives that are impossible to explain, the Vikings and Bears are interested in offensive tackle Phil Loadholt. Via the Minneapolis Placemat:

are you looking for the last & final piece of the puzzle, well sign phil loadholt to yr team. this is the end of the newspaper article. bye

My take: what a "[phil] load[holt]" of crap. Spending money on players who never touch the ball is kind of a waste, especially an offensive tackle. Even if he's like the best offensive tackle ever, the other team will just find some other jerk on your line who isn't as good and get past him so he can sack your quarterback.

In fact, having a weak offensive line encourages your quarterback to get good on his feet and just run around and make stuff happen. Just having him scramble around for a while and wait for defensive coverage to fall apart. Time to throw away the playbook and play some backyard football and set the league on fire and do what it takes to win.
