TV ratings are a very fickle thing, they come and go, ebb and flow, sometimes for no reason whatsoever. This is especially the case for shows that air on a daily basis, where you never know who'll be capable of watching five days a week.
For all our sakes, however, let's just hope that this is a permanent audience response to something that is bad and makes you feel bad. The wonderful, anonymous @TVSportsRTGS is reporting bad tidings for Skip Bayless and Stephen A. Smith.
First Take is on pace for its least-watched month since August '12.— TVSportsRatings (@TVSportsRTGS) March 20, 2013
The numbers I have, which go through March 10, show the two-hour live broadcast of First Take on ESPN2 averaging 336,000 viewers. The half-hour ESPN broadcast later in the day averages 300,000 viewers over the same period. We don't have numbers going back to last August, but as long as First Take and the #EmbraceDebate movement take a hit, those of us in the #ReasonWillPrevail movement shall be happy.
