Bruins vs. Canadiens: Zdeno Chara punishes Alexei Emelin for Seguin hit

Chara got 17 minutes in the box for it. But what a great captain, right?

For those of you wondering when this Bruins-Canadiens game would get nasty: You can tune in now. A couple of fights and questionable hits have turned this one into really physical battle.

After a rather quiet first period by Habs-Bruins standards, the two teams have gone from simple hits to entire shoving matches. One of those said matches devolved into a pretty intense bout between Milan Lucic and Brandon Prust:

A few minutes later, Alexei Emelin made a questionable hit on Tyler Seguin at center ice that left Seguin shaken up. Zdeno Chara, like the good captain he is, immediately charged down the ice and leveled Emelin. You can only imagine the "holy crap" thought that ran through Emelin's mind when he turned around and saw the 6-foot-9 Chara bearing down on him. Chara doesn't fight often anymore, but he certainly got the message across to Emelin with a couple of nasty uppercuts.
