That's not how you clear the zone.
I remember a few years ago when the Dallas Cowboys opened their new stadium and everyone was worried about punters hitting the gigantic scoreboard hanging above the field with their kicks.
I suppose this is the hockey equivalent of that. Matt Beleskey, while trying to clear the puck out of his zone, ended up golfing the puck into the sky and off the center-ice scoreboard, stopping play. The scoreboard apparently wasn't damaged at all. (Obviously.) I guess that's one way to give your team a few seconds of rest.
The fans might've found it funny, but Beleskey had the last laugh when he notched the game's first goal just a few minutes later.
