Positives: Overanalyze has displayed a versatile running style over the course of his career; he's run just off the pace and won, as well as rallying from several lengths back in the middle of the pack. That versatility should serve him well in a race like the Kentucky Derby where a horse may be faced with challenging circumstances throughout the mile and a quarter journey around the track.

Looking at Overanalyze's success at nine furlongs, his pedigree and his running style, the ten furlong distance of the Derby should be within his range.

Negatives: This colt's been a bit of an inconsistent runner over the course of his career. He broke his maiden at Saratoga last August then was well-beaten in the G2-Futurity a month later. Then he won the G2-Futuirty at Belmont Park at the end of September only to finish eight lengths back in the G3-Iroquois at Churchill in late October. He closed out his juvenile campaign by edging Normandy Invasion in the G2-Remsen but cold only finish fifth in the Gotham after a wide trip. He bounced back after the Gotham to win the Arkansas Derby by four and a half lengths over Frac Daddy.
