The NHL announced the three finalists for the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy, which is awarded to the player who best exemplifies sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct combined with a high standard of playing ability. The award is voted on by the membership of the Professional Hockey Writers' Association.
Kane recorded eight penalty minutes over four minor penalties in 47 games this season. He also registered 55 points (23 goals, 32 assists), which led the Blackhawks. Moulson finished with four penalty minutes while recording 44 points (15 goals, 29 assists), which was third on his team.
St. Louis finished with 14 penalty minutes and 60 points this season (led the league). He has won the Lady Byng two times previously and is attempting to become the ninth player to win the award three times.
The award winner is expected to be announced during the Stanley Cup Finals.
