Tuesday night ended up being a pretty exciting few hours for fans of NBA teams good and bad. The night began with the draft lottery, wherein the league's worst teams hoped fortune might hand them the rights to this gentleman:
That's Nerlens Noel, and as luck would have it, the Cleveland Cavaliers will have the first chance to draft him. The Gilbert clan was pleased to hear the news:
The Jazz didn't move up at all. :(
After that, it was on to San Antonio for Game 2 between the Spurs and Gri-- wait what:
Uh...anyway, they did end up playing a basketball game, and the Grizzlies spent most of that game doing a lot of this:
Just so many misses. Pretty lame jump balls, too:
But Memphis made a marvelous fourth-quarter comeback punctuated by Quincy Pondexter's baseline smash:
...and Tony Allen cleverly drawn flagrant foul on Manu Ginobili:
(Clever, I say, because Allen didn't appear to ever hit his head, but certainly acted as if that was the case).
In any event, the improbable Memphis comeback forced the game to overtime, but San Antonio held on. Zach Randolph was rather dejected:
Spurs fans, less so:
And now it's 2-0. To Memphis we go.
