It's official: LeBron James of the Miami Heat has won his fourth Most Valuable Player Award, the league announced. About the only suspense left was seeing if James would become the first unanimous winner of the award.
In the end, he fell one vote short. Carmelo Anthony of the New York Knicks earned one first-place vote, spoiling James' chance of making history. Kevin Durant finished second overall in the voting, followed by Anthony, Chris Paul and Kobe Bryant.
Here is the full vote:
|Player||First place||Second place||Third place||Fourth place||Fifth place||TOTAL|
The voting mirrors the 2000 MVP award. Shaquille O'Neal won the honor, but one voter, later revealed to be Fred Hickman, chose Allen Iverson, preventing O'Neal from winning unanimously.
