Even if you don't like sports, there are many sports logos with which you may be familiar. But here's the thing: even if you DO like sports -- even if you instantly recognize a myriad of logos and create the semiotic link in your head to the team they represent on a daily basis -- they're insanely hard to recreate from memory alone.
This is our ongoing series where we attempt to recreate these logos using only a drawing implement and our own all-too-fallible human memories. Please enjoy our horrible attempt at the logo and accompanying anecdote, then give it a shot for yourself in the comments below. Have fun!
The St. Louis Cardinals have the best fans in baseball. This is a scientific fact. But do they have the most ARTISTIC fans with the best powers of recollection? Methinks we shall soon see!
Behold mine own attempt at drawing the cap and jersey logos of the Cardinals from memory. Note: I am not the best fan in baseball.
No one knows where that lil' "t" goes. No one. So I apparently drew a mushroom instead. And the higher bird on that bat looks suspiciously like a pterodactyl. Suggestion: "The St. Louis Pterodactyls" is an awesome name and Budweiser should take that under advisement.
Give it a shot for yourself! Post your attempt in the comments below. When you're done, click here to see what the cap logo actually looks like and click here to see what them birds on a bat are up to.
