Game 3 of the Chapel Hill Super Regional between South Carolina and North Carolina has been postponed until noon ET on Tuesday. The game had originally been scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Monday night, but inclement weather forced a delay. The game Tuesday will be televised by ESPN2.
This isn't the first time that bad weather has gotten in the way of baseball in Chapel Hill. Game 1 had to be pushed back from Friday to Saturday thanks to heavy rain. The bad weather continued Sunday night, but the Tar Heels and Gamecocks got Game 2 completed before it hit.
North Carolina claimed a 1-0 series lead over South Carolina with a come-from-behind 6-5 win Saturday afternoon, and South Carolina staved off elimination with a dominant 8-0 win Sunday. Game 3 will decide which of the two teams advances to the 2013 College World Series -- whenever it finally gets started, that is.
