Worst day of weather for the 2013 U.S. Open is today for the opening round. Rain and storms are likely this morning as storms from overnight push through Pennsylvania towards Philadelphia. Mid morning into early afternoon, there could be a dry break with sunshine and clouds but also a few isolated showers and storms possible. The main concern for severe weather come mid to late afternoon into the evening hours.

Strong to potentially severe storms are possible later this afternoon and evening for the Philadelphia area. Damaging winds seem to be the main concern but also frequent lightning, hail and isolated tornadoes. Afternoon high temperature will be near 80 at around 79 degrees. Winds out of the west between 10 and 20 mph.
Rain amounts today into tonight could range 1 to 2 inches, falling on an already saturated gold course.
FRIDAY - SECOND ROUND WEATHER FORECAST
Weather is better than Thursday but there is still a small chance of an isolated shower, mostly during the morning. By the afternoon skies will become mostly to partly sunny. Temperatures in the afternoon are cooler only reaching the mid 70s. It will be windy, with a north wind between 15 and 25 mph.

The rest of the weekend looks great for the 2013 U.S. Open. Skies will be mostly sunny and warm, high temperatures each day will be near 80. Saturday the high will be near 80 while Sunday will be warmer, with a high near 84 degrees.
