Spain have an unsurprisingly comfortable lead after a half of play in Belarus. Their opponents have defended fairly well, but the talent gap between the sides has been obvious throughout the match, and Spain have earned a 2-0 lead.
Jordi Alba scored 12 minutes in on a brilliant overlapping run. He was played into the box by Pedro Rodriguez and surged past his defender before placing an impressive off-balance shot into the back of he net. In the 20th minute, Pedro grabbed a goal of his own with an emphatic finish from inside the penalty area, assisted by David Silva.
More likely than not, Spain are going to spend the rest of this game keeping possession and taking a bit of a breather. The Belarus attackers are decent enough players, but Alexander Hleb isn't exactly known for pressing and winning the ball back. Expect a slow, methodical version of La Roja for the second 45 minutes of the match.
