England have had all of the possession against San Marino, but haven't been terrific in front of goal, either with their finishing or attempted passes into the penalty area. After 35 minutes of doing nothing with their domination, England were granted a penalty that all but ended the game, and they lead 2-0 at halftime.
The Three Lions were actually dealt a bit of a blow when Theo Walcott appeared to get the wind knocked out of him in a collision with San Marino goalkeeper Aldo Simoncini. He attempted to continue playing, but was substituted for Aaron Lennon in the 9th minute.
Simoncini has been a bit of a wrecking ball, and he saw yellow in the 34th minute for bringing down Danny Welbeck in the penalty area. Wayne Rooney stepped up to convert, and England stopped playing a tense and robotic-looking game after that. They added a second two minutes later through Welbeck, who applied a cheeky finish with his trailing foot on a low cross by Lennon.
England have hit the woodwork a couple of times as well, and should be up by more than two goals. They don't look terrific, but San Marino are simply a poor side.
