Uzbekistan and Oman both kept themselves in contention for World Cup qualification with wins today.
Australia's potential campaign saving comeback victory over Iraq will probably get the headlines, but there were other matches today as the final round of World Cup qualification in the AFC moves towards the halfway point.
Group A
Qatar 0-1 Uzbekistan
Sanjar Tursunov's 13th minute goal gave Uzbekistan their second point of this qualifying round, but it still wasn't enough to pull them out of last place. Fortunately even with only two points, they sit only two points out of a qualification spot. Qatar's loss keeps them in third for the time being, ahead of Lebanon on goal differential.
Group B
Oman 2-1 Jordan
Second half goals from Ahmed Mubarak and Abdulaziz Maqbali were enough for Oman as they survived a late charge from Jordan, including a stoppage time goal from Thaer Bawab, to earn the full three points. Oman moves up to third place in the group, behind Australia only on goal differential.
Iran and South Korea cap the day's action in the late kickoff.
