Marcos Maidana had a great first round against Floyd Mayweather, so Mayweather came out attempting to get things back to the kind of fight that he prefers to fight.
Mayweather moved, picked his spots, worked jabs and the right hand, looking to get his rhythm back and keep Maidana from pinning him against the ropes.
Maidana did eventually get the fight to the ropes again, but this round Mayweather was able to counter and go more shot-for-shot with Maidana in the position where he got mugged in the first. Mayweather also began using some veteran tricks, like sticking his forearm in Maidana's face to create distance.
It was a better round for Mayweather, but Maidana is alive much more than many people thought the heavy underdog would be through two rounds.
SB Nation scores this round for Mayweather 10-9, making the fight even at 19-19 after the first two rounds.
