The first two rounds of Floyd Mayweather vs. Marcos Maidana had been more exciting than expected based on Maidana's ability to get Mayweather to the ropes and try to mug him.
Mayweather came out and started to jab hard to the body in round three, and then worked some hard power shots, trying to back Maidana off, but Maidana walked through them and tried to keep throwing shots.
Maidana got a warning from referee Tony Weeks for hitting behind the head, then came forward and landed a big uppercut that bothered Mayweather a little bit. Mayweather seemed to get upset and start firing big shots in return, including his classic right hand.
The fight had broken down into a bit of a brawl with Mayweather using his forearm, both men winging power shots and some roughhouse tactics, and it has made for a much more exciting fight.
