Belmont Stakes 2014 race day weather forecast

Nearly perfect weather for the final race of the Triple Crown, the Belmont Stakes.

History could be made today as California Chrome tries to do what no other horse has been able to do since Seattle Slew back in 1977, win the Triple Crown. California Chrome and all the other horses participating in today's Belmont Stakes will see similar weather to what they saw at The Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes, sunny and dry conditions which equals a dry fast race track.

Large area of high pressure dominates the weather today over the Northeast which will mean more sunshine over the track. There was some rain on Thursday, where locations around New York City picked up between a half to three-quarters of an inch or rain. With the sunshine and dry condition on Friday the track for the Belmont Stakes should be mostly dry and fast.

SATURDAY - BELMONT STAKES WEATHER FORECAST:
Sunny and warm for today's Belmont Stakes and the third and final race of the Triple Crown. Weather has not been an issue so far in 2014 and it won't be today. Lots of sunshine is expected all day as temperatures warm into the low 80s by the afternoon. Winds will be out of the south between 5 and 15 mph.
