Belmont Stakes odds 2014: California Chrome holding steady as race favorite

Streeter Lecka

The favorites have stayed steady through Saturday, but there's been movement in the middle of the pack.

Update: Tonalist wins, denies California Chrome Triple Crown

Less than an hour before the 146th running of the Belmont Stakes, the odds are staying relatively steady.

California Chrome, the winner of the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes, remains the odds-on-favorite, but has moved from 3/5 to 4/5. If the horse can pull off the win on Saturday, he would be the first Triple Crown winner since Affirmed in 1978.

The biggest movers have been Commanding Curve and Ride On Curlin. Commanding Curve jumped from 15/1 up to 8/1, while Ride On Curlin moved from 12/1 to 7/1.

Several horses have seen big drops. Commissioner, who was at 20/1 this morning, now sits at 27/1. Matterhorn, the biggest long shot in the race, fell from 30/1 to 38/1.

Here are the complete odds, according to NBC:

No. 1: Medal Count, 26/1

No. 2: California Chrome, 4/5

No. 3: Matterhorn, 38/1

No. 4: Commanding Curve, 8-1
