After a relatively quiet half-inning from the National League batters, the American League All-Stars unloaded on starting pitcher Adam Wainwright, led by spark plug Derek Jeter. The Yankees veteran led off the bottom of the first with an opposite field double, in a fitting tribute to ... himself. Mike Trout then followed with a triple off the right field wall that Yasiel Puig couldn't corral.
Puig was almost able to reel it in but #shadows no doubt caused some issues for him. The triple brought Jeter home for the first run of the game.
